Itinerary
Experience one of Darwin’s iconic tourist attractions, a half-day Jumping Croc Cruise on the Adelaide River, where you can observe dangerous and aggressive predators in their natural habitat.
Starting from Darwin city, we head southeast for about 60km to reach the Marrakai wetlands. This area is known for its diverse wildlife, including over 280 species of birds and 117 species of reptiles, including the saltwater crocodile.
The Top End of Australia has over 100,000 saltwater crocodiles, primarily found around Darwin, Mary River, and the Adelaide River region. As a result, visitors are likely to observe a substantial number of crocodiles throughout the day in the naturally existing waterways of the Northern Territory.
The saltwater crocodile is the largest reptile in the world and one of the oldest living creatures. It can grow up to 6 meters long and weigh 1000kg. A local crocodile named ‘Sweetheart’ was captured after causing trouble for fishermen and farmers. Sweetheart passed away in 1979 but is preserved in the Darwin Museum.
Our staff members hold Wildlife Permits issued by National Parks and Wildlife to ensure ethical interactions with the wildlife, with no harm caused to the animals.
