Tour Itinarary
Day 1 - Perth to Kalbarri
The Perth to Exmouth tour leaves Perth at 7:25 am and goes north along the coast. You’ll have lunch by the Indian Ocean and take a walk with a tour guide through the rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert. As evening comes, you’ll travel through Geraldton before staying overnight in Kalbarri.
Meals provided include lunch and dinner. Accommodation will be at Kalbarri Backpackers YHA, which offers dorms with shared bathroom facilities. The driving distance for this trip is 575km. The hike distance is 2km and is graded 1-2.
Day 2 - Kalbarri - Shark Bay
Today, explore Kalbarri National Park. Hike to Nature’s Window and see a stunning rock formation. Hike the Z Bend trail for the best views of the park. In the afternoon, head to Shark Bay and visit a beach with white cockle shells. Spend the night in Monkey Mia.
Meals included are breakfast and dinner. Accommodation will be at RAC Monkey Mia Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. There is an option for abseiling at Z-Bend in Kalbarri. The driving distance is 450km, and the hiking distance is 3 km with a grade 3-4 difficulty level.
Begin your day with an exciting adventure at Kalbarri National Park. Experience abseiling down the gorge walls with Kalbarri Abseil. No need for prior experience, as training will be given on-site. All necessary equipment is provided. Capture memorable photos on your camera, or ask non-participants to take pictures for you. This thrilling activity can be arranged during your tour.
Day 3 - Monkey Mia - Coral Bay
In the morning, you can witness a famous wildlife encounter in Australia. The Monkey Mia Dolphins swim to shore and are hand-fed in knee-deep water. Take some time to relax on the beautiful coastline before visiting the Stromato.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation: Ningaloo Coral Bay Backpacker Dorms, with shared bathroom facilities. Driving distance: 580km. Hike distance: 2km, with a grade 1 difficulty level.
Day 4 - Coral Bay
Explore the Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay. Snorkel in the turquoise water close to the beach. Take a tour to explore offshore reefs. Enjoy the sun on the beach. Travel to Exmouth in the evening.
Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation is provided at Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Activities like swimming with Manta Rays, snorkelling at Ningaloo Reef, and taking glass-bottom boat tours are available. However, due to timing constraints, guests cannot book Whaleshark swims on this day. The driving distance for this day is 155km, with a Grade 1 difficulty level.
Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)
Coral Bay Ecotours offers the opportunity to swim with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef, only for competent swimmers, through snorkelling.
You can enjoy a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. The tour includes all necessary equipment, such as a wetsuit, morning and afternoon tea and a buffet lunch with cold meats and salads. During the tour, you can witness the mesmerizing dance of the manta rays and experience two snorkelling sessions on the reef, where you can encounter beautiful fish, corals, and possibly sea turtles and reef sharks. Additionally, you will have the chance to visit the turtle sanctuary and observe turtles coming up for air in the shallows.
Experience a Glass Bottom Boat tour on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours.
Coral Bay Ecotours offers tours of the Ningaloo Reef on their glass bottom boat. You can see tropical and temperate fish and corals through the glass. They offer 1-, 2-, and 3-hour journeys. The 1 hour is just a glass viewing. The 2-hour trip includes a glass viewing and a snorkel site. The 3-hour trip includes glass viewing, snorkelling, and visiting the turtle sanctuary. You can watch turtles feeding and coming up for air in the shallows at the turtle sanctuary. The skipper can even try to get the turtles under the glass for you. Snorkel tours come with equipment.
Guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on [day 4] as they return after the bus has departed Coral Bay. All optional activities in Coral Bay must be completed by 3:45-4:00 pm.
Day 5 - Exmouth
Today, you will visit Cape Range National Park. You will see breathtaking limestone ranges, canyons, and pristine beaches that stretch for 50km. The tour includes stops at Turquoise Bay, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, and Milyering Visitors Center. The tour will end in the late afternoon, making it a perfect way to conclude your Perth to Exmouth tour.
The meals provided are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The accommodation is in Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. There are two options for swimming with either Whalesharks (Mar-Sep) or Humpbacks (Aug-Oct), but pre-booking is required. The driving distance is 135km, and the hiking distance is 1km with a Grade 1-2 difficulty level.
Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)
Exmouth Dive Centre offers the opportunity to swim with Whalesharks and Humpback Whales during their seasonal period from March to August. Please note that snorkelling is available but only for competent swimmers.
Experience a memorable day at Exmouth Dive Centre. Start with a snorkel at the reef, enjoying the coral gardens and fish. You might even see turtles or reef sharks! Then, the team will search for humpback whales and whale sharks with a spotter plane. Whether you get to swim with the humpback whales depends on their willingness to participate. If they don’t cooperate, the plane will find another group. All equipment is provided, including wetsuits if needed. You’ll also be served morning and afternoon tea and a buffet lunch.
Day 6 - Tour ends in Exmouth
Today, you must check out your accommodation at 10:00 am and say your goodbyes.
Meals provided include breakfast, and guests can extend their stay or arrange their connections to their next destination at their own expense.
